Abstract

The frequency of preterm births in the world varies depending on the region within 5‐18%. The problem of early diagnosis of preterm birth is still relevant and has not been fully resolved. We examined 265 pregnant women admitted to the obstetric hospital with a diagnosis of threatened preterm birth (main group) and 50 pregnant women who delivery in a timely manner (control group). We analyzed age, gestational age, risk factors for preterm birth and pregnancy outcomes in all examined women. The obtained data were subjected to statistical analysis by methods of variation statistics using Pearson test for comparison. The results of the study showed that in 49,8% of patients of the main group no were clinical and anamnestic risk factors. Out of 265 women, premature birth occurred only in 37,7% of patients, of which in the first 2 weeks in 22%, in 15,7% ‐ at various gestation periods after discharge from the hospital. In 67% of cases, preterm birth occurred in women with various clinical and anamnestic risk factors, mainly at 28‐33 weeks of gestation (49%), in pregnant women with a history of preterm birth (83,5%), multiple pregnancy (49,3%) and patients with various complication of this pregnancy (50,7%).
