Abstract

The goal of investigation is to study echographic features of the placenta and amniotic fluid in the course of pregnancy on the background of acute coronavirus infection. Material & methods. 145 pregnant women with acute coronavirus infection were
examined, of which 55 (37.9%) of patients were at 38-40 gestational weeks (main group I). 58 (40%) patients were at 22-27 weeks of pregnancy (main group II), and 32 (22.1%) of patients with coronavirus infection were at gestational age less than 22 weeks (main group III). Following all sanitary and epidemiological regimen according to the Covid-19 pandemic, all patients underwent clinical, functional, laboratory, biochemical, radiological methods of examination. To determine SARS CoV-2, swabs were taken from the nose and throat, followed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results. It was found that in pregnant women with acute coronavirus infection at 38-40 weeks, the frequency of oligohydramnios was 3.6%, the average thickness of the placenta was 33.8±1.21 mm. In patients at 22-37 weeks of gestation, the frequency of oligohydramnios increased to
43.1%, the thickness of the placenta was 26.3 ± 0.43mm. All pregnant women up to 12 weeks of pregnancy had uterine hypertonus, 33.3% had absence of fetal heart rate. In pregnant women with a gestational age of 18-22 weeks, the frequency of oligohydramnios was within 43.5%, the thickness of the placenta was 2.46±1.3 mm. As a result of the study, it was found that the effect of SARS-CoV-2 infection on the course of pregnancy depends on the gestational age at the moment of contamination: in the early stages of pregnancy, infection is accompanied by spontaneous miscarriage, the threat of premature birth. The main diagnostic finding in the later weeks of pregnancy was the development of oligohydramnios.
