Assessment of maternal socio-medical risk factors in the development of peripartum cardiomyopathy
Abstract
One of the most severe heart diseases associated with pregnancy is peripartum cardiomyopathy (PCMP). Objective. To identify the risk factors of PCMP development on the basis of anamnesis data, hereditary predisposition. Material and methods of
research. A prospective cohort study of 75 patients was carried out. Statistical differences between the groups were evaluated using the chi-square test (χ2) and Fisher's exact test (f). Results and Discussion. The analysis of socio-medical indicators revealed that the data obtained are not specific data to berelied upon in selecting the risk group for the development of PCMP among pregnant women. Echocardiographic and laboratory tests should be mandatory in the initial diagnosis.
