Abstract

In developing countries, more than 1 million newborns die from infection each year, which accounts for 40% of neonatal deaths. The main way of spread of hospital infection is the hands of medical workers. Bacterial resistance to antibiotics complicates the patient's treatment process, prolongs the length of the newborn's stay in the hospital and increases treatment costs, worsens the long-term results of treatment, and increases mortality.
